BernHardt College Organized a Workshop on “Socio-educational Issues as Challenges for Formal Education”

Kathmandu BernHardt Secondary School and College organized a Kathmandu Regional School Principals’ Workshop on “Socio-educational Issues as Challenges for Formal Education” on 18^th June 2022 at Sitapaila, Kathmandu. Professor Dr. Jaya Raj Awasthi graced the program as the Chief Guest. The program which was a CSR initiative of the College was attended by about 100 School Principals and Executives.

The Chairman of the College Mr. Bhupesh Chhatkuli, who was also chairing the program, spoke about the objective of the workshop and the College Advisor Professor Dr. Narayan Prashad Chapagain welcomed the guests and participants. During the program, Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Awasthi presented his ideas on the current social and educational challenges in Nepal.

After the formal session, the participants discussed and interacted on 8 themes that included Case of Single Parents, Broken family, Parenting Style, Diversity in Classroom, Drugs Addiction, Mobile & Internet Addiction, Severe Illness and Children in Relation. The program concluded by forming a 10-point manifesto based on the collective ideas of the workshop.

At the end of the program, Mr. Nabaraj Adhikari, the Managing Director of Kathmandu BernHardt Secondary School and College said, “The workshop has really been successful as it constructively ended with a formation of 10-point manifesto. BernHardt is now planning to conduct similar types of programs in other provinces in near future.”
